Prayagraj: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, during his visit to PrayagrajPrayagraj, highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of the Mahakumbh, which he described as a unique event occurring every 144 years.
Speaking at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, Mein said, “This Mahakumbh happens every 144 years. I wanted to bring holy water from the Parshuram Mela here and unite it with the waters of the Triveni Sangam. It represents the blending of our cultural and spiritual heritage.”
Mein revealed that he had met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and extended an invitation to him to attend the Parshuram Mela, a significant cultural and religious festival in Arunachal Pradesh.
He also took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, describing it as a deeply spiritual experience. “This Sangam of Mahakumbh is the confluence of our culture, rituals, and spirituality,” Mein said, emphasizing the importance of preserving and celebrating India's cultural diversity.
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mein remarked, “PM Modi says that we have to take India forward with this cultural diversity.” He called upon people to recognize the unifying power of India’s rich heritage and traditions in shaping a strong and inclusive nation.
