Delhi | Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on Wednesday said the Indian Army is integrating its modernisation and digitisation initiatives with key national missions, including the India AI, space, quantum, and 6G programmes.
Speaking at the Delhi Defence Dialogue, General Dwivedi highlighted that the Army’s technological roadmap is being closely aligned with national priorities to enhance operational efficiency and innovation within the forces. “We are aligning ourselves with the national missions. The India AI mission we have already aligned. We are associated with the space mission, quantum mission, and 6G,” he said.
The Army Chief outlined plans for the establishment of three Regional Development Centres (RDCs) under the first phase of the initiative. “To move ahead in phase one, three RDCs, with 128 GPUs each costing Rs 150 crore, have already been planned and the money has been allocated,” he added, underscoring the Army’s focus on AI integration and digital transformation.
General Dwivedi further said the Army is preparing to roll out the next phase of its digital strategy. “If everything goes well, we will be launching Digitisation 3.0, and the Raksha Mantri will be launching it this month or the next,” he said.
