Delhi: Union Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, highlighted India’s dynamic democratic framework and its citizen-oriented governance approach, calling it a testament to the nation’s deep-rooted democratic ethos. Speaking at an event celebrating the journey of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), Meghwal said that India, as the “mother of democracy,” has consistently strengthened its institutional structures by embracing timely innovations.
He noted that India’s governance model has increasingly adopted a bottom-up, citizen-centric approach designed to keep the perspective of the common man at the heart of policymaking. Citing NALSA’s evolution as a model, he said the authority’s efforts to make justice accessible and inclusive serve as a “prime example of democracy in action.”
