Thiruvananthapuram | As his tenure as the Governor of Kerala comes to a close, Arif Mohammed Khan delivered a heartfelt farewell message, underscoring his deep bond with the state and its people. Speaking to the media, he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and affection he received during his tenure, marking his association with Kerala as a lifelong connection.

“My term has come to an end but my Kerala has a very, very, very special place now in my heart and my feelings. My association with Kerala is not going to come to an end. It is a lifelong bond now, and I shall try to keep in touch with you,” Khan remarked, extending his best wishes to the people of Kerala.

Reflecting on his time in office, Khan emphasized that there had been no significant disputes during his tenure, apart from his role as Chancellor of universities, where he exercised authority vested by the State Assembly. “As far as the universities are concerned, I exercised the authority which has been vested in the Governor as Chancellor by the State Assembly. On any other issue, there has been no dispute,” he said.

Khan also conveyed his good wishes to the state government, expressing hope for their continued focus on the welfare of the people. “I give my best wishes to the Government of Kerala also, and I hope that they will work for the welfare of the people,” he stated.
