By A Staff Reporter — Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister TG Bharath has responded to concerns and allegations surrounding uranium mining activities in Kurnool district. Speaking on recent developments, he emphasized that no active mining work is underway, and that the clearance and permissions were granted by a previous administration.

Minister Bharath explained that the current focus is limited to preliminary survey activities, with no plans for further drilling or extraction at this stage. “The previous government gave clearance, drilling permission, everything was done,” he noted, stressing that recent actions only involve survey work and not mining operations.

The minister addressed what he called "false propaganda" allegedly spread by the YSR Congress Party, which raised alarms over the potential environmental and health impacts of uranium mining. Bharath dismissed these concerns, stating that no harmful activities are taking place and that safety remains a top priority.

Further, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has instructed the Kurnool District Collector to halt any additional work on the site. Minister Bharath reassured the public, underscoring the government’s commitment to transparency and community welfare in Kurnool.
