Madhubani: Reacting sharply to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav’s recent promise of providing a government job to every household in Bihar, BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Wednesday accused Yadav of making “impossible promises” and questioned his credibility as a leader.
“Who is Tejashwi Yadav? He is the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, under whose rule Bihar witnessed chaos, corruption, and rampant crime,” Thakur said while addressing a press conference in Madhubani. He alleged that the RJD regime was marked by “riots, hooliganism, firearms, crimes against women, and a climate of fear” throughout the state.
Thakur further attacked Yadav for allegedly distancing himself from his own family members for political convenience. “Today, Tejashwi Yadav has removed his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s photo from his campaign, expelled his own brother Tej Pratap Yadav from the party, and sidelined his sisters. If he cannot remain loyal to his family, what can he do for Bihar?” he asked.
Dismissing Yadav’s employment pledge as financially unfeasible, Thakur said, “He talks about creating jobs, but where will they come from? Bihar’s budget is limited, and providing a government job to every family would require ₹9.3 lakh crore — far exceeding the state’s total budget.”
