Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh: BJPMP Anurag Thakur has strongly criticized the Congress-led government in Himachal Pradesh for its handling of financial matters, particularly regarding pension and salary payments. Speaking at an event in Hamirpur, Thakur highlighted the delays in disbursing salaries and pensions to government employees, questioning the current state of financial affairs in the state.
"What is the condition of Himachal Pradesh? Is any of you a pensioner? What is the date today? Did you get your pension? Did the government employees receive their salaries?" Thakur asked, pointing out that despite it being September 4, there were significant delays in salary payments.
He accused the Congress government of bringing about unprecedented financial difficulties, stating, "'Congress aayi, bure din laayi'... The arrival of Congress was bad news." Thakur also criticized the government for not fulfilling its promises, such as the Rs. 1500 monthly allowance for women, which has not been disbursed as promised.
Thakur further lamented the lack of payment of Dearness Allowance (DA) and claimed that government employees were being denied their rights. He rebutted the Chief Minister’s defense that the BJP’s previous administration's achievements, such as opening 600 schools, colleges, and hospitals, were the reason for the financial strain. "What else would a government do if they won't open schools and hospitals?" Thakur challenged.
