New Delhi: Union Minister Annpurna Devi has sharply criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his handling of women's safety in the national capital. Speaking to the media, Devi questioned Kejriwal’s commitment to law and order, particularly when it comes to ensuring the safety of women.

“The public does not trust Arvind Kejriwal. Whenever elections approach, he starts worrying about law and order and women's safety in Delhi,” said Devi. She further alleged that an incident involving a woman in Kejriwal's residence, the 'Sheesh Mahal,' had not been resolved, with the victim still awaiting justice.

Devi questioned how Kejriwal could speak about women’s safety when such incidents remain unresolved under his leadership. She contrasted this with the ongoing efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, according to Devi, is consistently working to empower women and provide them with a safer environment.

Devi’s comments come amid growing political debates about law and order in Delhi, as well as the effectiveness of the local government in ensuring the safety of its residents. While Kejriwal has frequently advocated for women’s rights, including schemes to ensure their safety, critics have raised concerns about the implementation and impact of these measures.

As the discourse on women’s safety continues to take center stage, both the Delhi government and the Union government are under scrutiny for their roles in ensuring a safe environment for women across the city.
