Chennai/Patna: Hours before Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin’s scheduled participation in the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar alongside Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai on Wednesday released what he described as a compilation of “uncouth remarks” made by DMK leaders and their allies about people from Bihar.
Annamalai, who has often criticised the DMK leadership on issues of language and regional identity, said the compilation highlighted a pattern of derogatory comments against Biharis. According to him, these remarks reflected a contradiction between the DMK’s political outreach in Bihar and its past statements.
The move comes as Stalin’s presence in Bihar is being seen as a show of solidarity with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the wider INDIA alliance, which is seeking to consolidate opposition unity ahead of the next general elections.
