Chandigarh: In a politically charged response to the acquittal of all accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, Haryana Minister Anil Vij has strongly criticised the Congress party, alleging a pattern of sympathy towards Pakistan and dismissing claims of any form of saffron terrorism in India.
Reacting to the special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court’s verdict, which cleared the accused of all charges after years of trial, Vij said, “We understand that Pakistan is the child of Congress, and there is always love and affection towards the child. Be it the Kargil War or any other operation, Congress has always presented the side of Pakistan.”
Referring to the recent parliamentary debate over ‘Operation Sindoor’, an Indian military operation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Vij claimed that opposition members failed to acknowledge the efforts of Indian soldiers. “No one spoke about India and Indian soldiers... They always talk to make them (Pakistan) happy,” he added.
Vij further rejected the notion of ‘Bhagwa Atankwad’ (saffron terrorism), a term used in political discourse over the years to refer to certain cases involving Hindu nationalist groups. “There is no such thing as ‘Bhagwa Atankwad’ in India,” he asserted.
