Munger, Bihar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday appealed to voters to ensure that the so-called “Jungle Raj” does not return to Bihar, as he launched a sharp attack on the Lalu-Rabri era while reaffirming the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) unity ahead of the state assembly elections.
Addressing a rally in Munger, Shah said, “On the upcoming 6th November, the first phase of the election will take place in Bihar. This election is not about making someone MLA, Minister, or Chief Minister, but about ensuring that Jungle Raj does not return to Bihar.”
He accused the Lalu-Rabri governments of bringing years of lawlessness and stagnation to the state, claiming that Bihar saw “destruction” under their rule. In contrast, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for steering the state toward development and stability.
“Bihar moves forward on the path of development under the leadership of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar. If Lalu-Rabri return, then Jungle Raj will also return,” Shah asserted.
Drawing a mythological comparison, he added, “All five parties of the NDA will fight these elections like the five Pandavas with unity.” He contrasted this with the opposition, saying that due to internal disputes over ticket distribution, “the Mahagathbandhan neither has a leader nor intention or leadership.”
