Delhi, May 1 — On the 35th death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled a statue of the revered Bodo social activist in Kailash Colony, New Delhi. The occasion marked a significant tribute to Brahma’s tireless fight for the respect and dignity of his community and region.
In his address, Amit Shah acknowledged the immense contributions of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, saying, “Today is the 35th death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, who fought for the respect and dignity of his community and region.” Shah expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to not only unveil the statue but also to name a major road after the legendary figure. “It is a matter of great fortune that I got the opportunity to unveil the statue in Kailash Colony and name a rajmarg in the name of Bodofa,” he remarked.
The statue and the road-naming ceremony symbolize more than just a recognition of one individual.
