Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to chair the 32nd meeting of the Northern Zonal Council (NZC) in Faridabad, Haryana, on Monday. The high-level gathering will bring together senior representatives and officials from northern states and union territories to deliberate on key governance challenges affecting the region.
According to official inputs, the agenda is expected to cover a wide spectrum of public-centric issues. These include strengthening education systems, improving health infrastructure, streamlining electricity supply, and enhancing inter-state cooperation on administrative matters.
One of the crucial topics likely to be taken up is the need for faster and more effective investigation into sexual offences against women and children. The Council is expected to review ongoing efforts and explore mechanisms to accelerate justice delivery in such cases, which continue to be an area of concern across several states in the northern region.
