Munger, Bihar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday announced that Munger will be linked with the Ram Circuit as part of the government’s cultural and tourism development initiative. Speaking at a public event, Shah emphasized Munger’s historic connection with Lord Ram and detailed several upcoming projects aimed at strengthening Bihar’s religious and infrastructural landscape.
“The land of Munger has a historic connection with Lord Ram. We have also decided to link Munger with the Ram Circuit,” Shah said. He recalled that for 500 years, Ram Lalla resided in a tent in Ayodhya, and alleged that parties such as Congress, SP, BSP, Trinamool Congress, and Lalu Yadav’s RJD opposed the construction of the Ram Temple.
“Since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2019, he not only performed the Bhumi Pujan but also conducted the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir,” he added. Shah further announced that a temple dedicated to Goddess Sita is being constructed in Sitamarhi at a cost of ₹850 crore.
He also said the Kastaharni Ghat and Mata Sita Charan Temple will be developed, while near Khagaria—where the BJP’s 1990 Rath Yatra was halted—a new temple dedicated to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita will be built. Additionally, Shah revealed plans to establish an airport in Munger to boost regional connectivity.
Targeting the opposition, he remarked, “The Lalu and Rabri governments have done nothing but promote corruption,” reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to transparency and development in Bihar.
