Nawada: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for campaigning in Bihar, accusing the BJP of failing its own people before seeking support in another state.
“In the past several years, when 1% of people have seen a 62% increase in their wealth, imagine the condition of the poor in Uttar Pradesh,” Yadav said while addressing a rally in Nawada. “Those who cannot provide fertiliser to farmers, cannot pay them fair prices for their produce, and cannot give jobs to the youth — with what face are they coming to ask for votes?” he added.
The SP chief claimed that the BJP’s governance in Uttar Pradesh has widened inequality and left farmers and jobless youth disillusioned. “Recently, they were defeated in Uttar Pradesh itself. The people of UP have rejected the BJP; they even lost in Awadh,” Yadav said, referring to the party’s setbacks in its traditional strongholds.
