LUCKNOW — Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of forests in Uttar Pradesh, blaming the BJP government for rising incidents of wild animals entering residential areas and attacking civilians. He made these remarks during a press conference organized to honour a local resident who bravely fought off a wild animal.
“We have assembled here to honour a daring person. Our party supported him, the DM helped, and others also played their role. We thank all of them,” Yadav said. “He fought the animal with bravery while many simply stood by. After a long struggle, he saved his life by taking a huge risk.”
Yadav cited multiple cases of animal intrusions in Bahraich, Shravasti, and Balrampur districts, stating that wild animals are increasingly seen on roads and inside homes. He even mentioned that an official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) was reportedly injured in one such incident.
“The truth is, we are destroying our forests. If this continues, animals will naturally stray into human habitats. Encroachment is happening at an alarming scale under the BJP regime. We are failing to maintain the ecological balance,” Yadav warned.
