New Delhi: An Air India flight operating from San Francisco to Delhi (AI174) on November 2, 2025, made a precautionary landing at Ulaanbaatar International Airport in Mongolia, the airline confirmed in an official statement.
According to the Air India spokesperson, the landing was carried out as a safety measure, and all passengers and crew members are safe. “With the help of our partners and local authorities, Air India has extended immediate assistance to the passengers,” the statement said.
Passengers were initially served meals on board following the landing and later disembarked after necessary safety checks were completed. Air India further informed that hotel arrangements had been made for passengers’ stay after clearing immigration procedures at the Ulaanbaatar airport.
The airline assured that alternative travel arrangements were being made to ensure passengers reach Delhi at the earliest.
“Air India is fully committed to the comfort and safety of its passengers and is coordinating closely with local authorities to minimize inconvenience,” the spokesperson added.
