New Delhi: As part of CPR Awareness Week, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has launched extensive training programmes at its SET Facility to equip students, laypersons, and paramilitary personnel with essential life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills.
Under the guidance of Dr M. Sreenivas, the institute is implementing a ‘Train the Trainer’ model, aiming to create a widespread CPR-aware community. This approach ensures that trained individuals can further educate others, multiplying the impact of the initiative across the campus and beyond.
So far, nearly 10,000 staff members have received training in Basic Life Support (BLS), a critical intervention that can sustain life until professional medical help arrives. The institute also plans to install Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at strategic locations across the campus, further enhancing emergency response capabilities and patient safety.
