Gujarat: Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik has announced an expansion of the city’s blood donation camps, now scheduled during a variety of religious festivals. Traditionally held during the Rath Yatra festival, these camps will this year coincide with celebrations across different faiths.
In his remarks, Malik explained, "Earlier, the blood donation camps were organised during the Rath Yatra festival. This time, we decided to organise the blood donation camps on the festival of all religions." He highlighted the involvement of spiritual leaders from various communities, facilitated with the support of the Red Cross, to promote a spirit of communal harmony.
Malik noted the positive atmosphere generated by the participation of diverse religious figures, stating, "There is an atmosphere of communal harmony." This inclusive approach aims to foster unity and cooperation among different communities in Ahmedabad.
The Commissioner also assured that comprehensive arrangements are in place for upcoming events, including Eid, the Ganesh festival, and a program featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "We have made all the arrangements for Eid, the Ganesh festival, and PM Modi's program in the city," Malik confirmed, indicating the city’s preparedness for these significant occasions.
This initiative reflects a broader effort to enhance community engagement and solidarity through shared activities, reinforcing Ahmedabad’s commitment to harmony and collaboration across cultural and religious boundaries.
