Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday joined a protest in Jammu against the detention of the party’s Doda MLA Mehraj Malik, who has been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The protest saw AAP workers and leaders demanding Malik’s release and condemning what they termed an attempt to stifle the party’s growth in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking at the demonstration, Singh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of deliberately targeting AAP as it expands its presence in new regions. “Wherever AAP’s footprints increase, BJP and the Prime Minister try to crush the party,” Singh alleged.

Malik’s detention has sparked political tensions, with AAP leaders calling it unjustified and politically motivated. Party workers have claimed that Malik was working actively in his constituency and had been raising issues of local development before his sudden detention.
