In a sharp critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the conduct of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj has alleged deliberate manipulation and political interference in the electoral process. Speaking on the MCD mayoral polls, Bharadwaj accused the BJP and the Centre of attempting to rig the system in their favor through strategic ward delimitation.
“The MCD election was scheduled in March 2022. The Election Commission said they were announcing the election and just before the press conference they postponed it,” said Bharadwaj. “The Home Minister postponed the election saying they will do delimitation. The wards were formed of 45,000 population intending to make BJP win. And the large population wards of 80,000 to 90,000 were left for AAP.”

He further claimed that despite these alleged efforts to engineer the outcome, the BJP failed to secure victory. “Even after these corrupt exercises, BJP lost the election,” he stated, accusing the party of resorting to “divide and rule politics.”
Rejecting any collaboration with the BJP, Bharadwaj added, “We do not want to be a part of it. We want BJP to have a four-engine government in Delhi. Now, they shouldn’t have any excuses. But we know within one month BJP will be exposed.”
