Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray launched a sharp critique of the Central Government and Mumbai Police over the issue of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. Speaking to reporters, Thackeray raised concerns about border security and questioned the effectiveness of local law enforcement in addressing the problem.
“I want to ask the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, how many illegal Bangladeshis have they arrested?” Thackeray said, demanding accountability from the city's police force. He called for a comparison of data from the UPA government’s tenure with the current administration, hinting at what he believes is a decline in efforts to address the issue.
Thackeray placed the onus of border security on the Central Government, accusing it of failing to prevent illegal immigration. “Border areas come under the Central Government, and they are not securing it. It's a failure of the Central Government to stop illegal Bangladeshis,” he remarked.
