Ayodhya: A 73-year-old man from Gujarat has completed an extraordinary 1,338-kilometre foot march from Mehsana to Ayodhya, honouring a promise made more than three decades ago.
Jayantilal Harjivandas Patel, a resident of Modipur village in Mehsana district, set out on his journey 40 days ago with a single aim — to fulfil a vow he had taken during the 1990 Somnath-Ayodhya Rath Yatra led by senior BJP leader L.K. Advani.
According to a statement from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Media Centre, Patel arrived in Ayodhya on Thursday, completing his arduous trek on foot. Along the way, he expressed unwavering faith in Lord Ram and said his journey was a spiritual mission rather than a political one.
