Dantewada, Chhattisgarh: A total of 71 Naxalites, including 30 with a combined bounty of Rs 64 lakh, surrendered in Dantewada district, the state government announced. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attributed the surrenders to sustained anti-Naxal operations and a government-led surrender policy.

“For the past 19 months, continuous operations are going on, during which Naxalites have also been neutralised. We had appealed for surrender and introduced a policy. Impressed by this, Naxalites are continuously surrendering,” CM Sai said.

Under the surrender policy, those giving up arms are provided land in both rural and urban areas. Additionally, surrendering individuals receive Rs 10,000 per month for three years, aimed at facilitating their reintegration into society.
