In Hindu tradition, muhurat is a time when the planets align favorably to ensure positive results. Muhurat trading is a common practice followed by traders in India. It is one hour period for investing in shares which is considered auspicious on the day of Diwali. Stock exchanges fix specific trading hours every year.
According to belief, people who trade during this one hour have a better chance of earning wealth and prosperity throughout the year. Usually, this time is in the evening of Diwali and most people prefer to buy stock as a symbol of Goddess Lakshmi. This is unique only to the Indian stock market.
