As the anticipation builds over India’s final squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, one of the biggest questions remains: Will Jasprit Bumrah be selected? The Indian selectors have a major call to make regarding the star pacer’s inclusion, as Rohit Sharma and his team aim to reclaim an ICC title.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) must submit its final 15-member squad by Tuesday, February 11. However, there is no official confirmation yet on whether Bumrah will be part of the squad or if he will be allowed to participate in the global tournament in Dubai.

Jasprit Bumrah set to be ruled out of IPL 2023 and WTC Final

Bumrah had an impressive 2024, playing 13 Tests and 8 T20Is, where he picked up 71 and 15 wickets, respectively. Despite his stellar performances, uncertainty looms over his participation. If he does not make the cut, the selectors must find a suitable replacement to fill the void left by India’s premier fast bowler.

With no official announcement yet regarding Bumrah’s selection or his replacement, speculation suggests that young pacer Harshit Rana is among the frontrunners to take his place. His recent performances in ODI cricket have caught the attention of selectors, making him a potential candidate for the Champions Trophy squad.
