Buddha Purnima: Gautam Buddha's birthday is celebrated by worshiping the Bodhi tree

By A Staff Reporter : Gautam Buddha's birthday celebrates on  Buddha Purnima.People of Buddhist religion observe the day through various activities.Devotees of Gautam Buddha start their day by getting up early in the morning of Buddha Purnima and taking a holy bath in river Ganges.Apart from cleaning the house,  water  of the Ganges river is sprinkled around. Even, swastik symbol is painted with turmeric-roli-gangajal at the entrance of the house.Many Buddhists visit Buddha Gaya on Buddha Purnima.Buddhist scriptures are read.The Bodhi tree is worshipped. Garlands of colorful flowers are tied to the trees.
