BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a major development, a large crowd of women staged massive protests against Sheikh Sirajuddin, TMC Youth leader and brother of Sheikh Shahjahan in Sandeshkhali on 22nd February, Thursday. 

Moreover, the protesters accuse Sirajuddin of setting their agricultural lands on fire and threatening them. Furthermore, the protesters alleged that the police authorities refused to file their complaints and help them against the perpetrators. The protesters further accused the TMC leaders of assaulting and harassing them

Furthermore, they slammed CM Mamata Banerjee for allegedly turning a 'blind eye' to the incidents. "And can't Mamata Didi see what is happening in Bengal? Has she become blind? She is weighing our respect in exchange for Rs 1000. She is sitting in a cold room and measuring our self-respect. She is a human?" A protester added.

A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar. While others have been arrested, Shahjahan Sheikh remains absconding.
