West Bengal: Baranagar TMC MLA Tapas Roy Resigns

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, Trinamool Congress MLA Tapas Roy tendered his resignation from the party and his post on 4th March, Monday.

Moreover, Tapas Roy represents the Baranagar constituency of Kolkata. He expressed displeasure over the party allegedly not taking a stand for him after his house was raided by the Enforcement Directorate. Roy was also upset with the handling of the Sandeshkhali issue.

As per reports, top TMC leaders Kunal Ghosh and Bratya Basu visited Tapas Roy's residence to persuade him and change his decision. 

However, former TMC General Secretary Kunal Ghosh has also resigned from his position but remains a member of the party.
