Kolkata, West Bengal: The West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) celebrated its 50th year with a grand event highlighting five decades of environmental progress. The celebration included an audio-visual presentation on the WBPCB's achievements, followed by the inauguration of the event by watering a sapling/plant.The coffee table book,newsletter, May 2024 edition and annual report(2022-23) of the WBPCB was also unveiled.

Dr. Rajesh Kumar, IPS, Member Secretary welcomed the guests, emphasizing the day's significance followed by Roshni Sen, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Shri Prabhat Kumar Mishra, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Irrigation and Waterways Department. MIC Md Ghulam Rabbani and Professor Sugato Bose, Chief Guest from Harvard University and Dr. Kalyan Rudra, Chairman of WBPCB.
