Srinagar, J&K – Following an intense encounter in the Anantnag district, Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police, VK Birdi, confirmed that two terrorists were neutralized. The operation, which involved coordinated efforts between multiple security agencies, is now reaching its conclusion.

"Two terrorists have been killed in this operation, and now this operation is coming to a close," IGP Birdi stated. He explained that the security forces acted on specific intelligence inputs, which were rigorously developed and verified before launching the action. “We keep getting inputs, and only after developing these inputs do the security forces take such actions,” Birdi emphasized, commending the teams for their diligence and effective execution.

The operation is seen as a significant achievement in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the region. Security agencies, in collaboration with local intelligence units, remain vigilant to potential threats, utilizing actionable intelligence to mitigate risks and maintain peace in the area. This successful outcome, Birdi noted, is not only a testament to the high level of coordination and planning among the security agencies but also underscores the ongoing commitment to combating terrorism in the region.

In recent months, security forces have intensified counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir, responding to heightened intelligence activities and threat assessments. The Anantnag operation’s success adds to a series of recent initiatives aimed at ensuring stability and safety in the region, reinforcing the region's resilience against militant activities.
