TMC Suspends Arrested Leader Shahjahan Sheikh For Six Years

TMC leader Derek O'Brien informed presspersons that the Trinamool Congress has decided to suspend the arrested TMC leader, Shahjahan Sheikh from the party for six years.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, Trinamool Congress suspended the Sandeshkhali incident accused Shahjahan Sheikh for six years on 29th February, Thursday. 

TMC leader Derek O'Brien informed presspersons that the Trinamool Congress has decided to suspend the arrested TMC leader, Shahjahan Sheikh from the party for six years. 

The decision comes after the controversial TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested by West Bengal Police in Manikah area of North 24 Parganas after Calcutta High Court ordered that Shahjahan Sheikh can be arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate or the West Bengal Police. He has been awarded 10-day custody by a local court in Basirhat. Also, West Bengal CID is set to take over a probe into cases against Shahjahan Sheikh.

Furthermore, Shahjahan Sheikh has been absconding since 5th January when an ED team was attacked by a mob while conducting raids at Sheikh's residence.

A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar.
