TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh Arrested By West Bengal Police

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, absconding Trinamool Congress leader and prime accused in the Sandeshkhali incident Shahjahan Sheikh has been nabbed by the West Bengal police in the Minakhan area of North 24 Parganas on 29th February, Thursday.

Moreover, the arrest comes after the Calcutta High Court ordered that Shahjahan Sheikh can be arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate or the West Bengal Police.  Furthermore, Shahjahan Sheikh has been absconding since 5th January when an ED team was attacked by a mob while conducting raids at Sheikh's residence.

A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara and Uttam Sardar.
