By A Staff Reporter: Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has expressed strong criticism regarding the nomination of Om Birla for the Speaker's position of the Lok Sabha. "Om Birla's name is coming forward, and the central government is asking us for support. The people have given them a message. You do not have the majority, and the people have asked you to bring some changes, even then you will continue with whatever you want and expect support," Chaturvedi remarked.

She highlighted Birla's controversial tenure, noting, "This is the same Speaker who suspended more than 130 MPs. So many bills were passed without discussion." Chaturvedi also emphasized the need for balanced representation, suggesting, "If you appoint the Speaker, then the Deputy CM should be of the Opposition. You are not agreeing to this also."

Furthermore, she announced that K Suresh has filed a nomination as the INDIA Alliance's candidate against Om Birla.
