Search operation started to track down terrorists underway in Rajouri

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Kashmir Valley was once again disturbed on Sunday morning. Security forces have launched a search operation in Kandi area of Rajouri since this morning. One militant was killed and another injured in an encounter with the army on Saturday. At around 7.30 am on Friday, a team of army commandos from 9 Para SF and 60 Rashtriya Rifles confronted a group of militants who had taken shelter in a cave in the dense forest of Kandi forest in Rajouri, Jammu. Meanwhile, seeing the army personnel entering, the militants threw pre-made explosives at the soldiers. They also fired indiscriminately at the soldiers with assault rifles. After the end of the gunfight, the Indian Army issued a statement saying that five Indian Army soldiers were martyred in such an encounter between security forces and militants.
