BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the rooftop solar program, mentioned in the Interim Budget on February 1, will be named PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
Taking it to his X handle, Modi announced the name of Rooftop Solar Programme 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana' which aims to light up one crore houses with 300 units of free electricity every month through an investment of 75,000 crores.
Moreover, the Panchayats and Urban Local bodies will be incentivized to promote this program at the grassroots. Moreover, the scheme will simultaneously lead to more income and reduced power bills.
