New Delhi – Following a cloudburst in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, emergency response efforts have been intensified as multiple rescue teams continue operations amid challenging weather conditions. BJP MP from Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar and Union Minister of State for Defence and Tourism, Ajay Bhatt, provided updates on the situation from Delhi.

“Teams of NDRF, SDRF, district administration, police, army, and ITBP are at the spot,” Bhatt said. “We have a report of four missing. Our priority is to rescue the people, and the teams are working even during the night to ensure that.”

Authorities have issued alerts in areas along the Ganga River, urging residents to remain vigilant and move to safer locations. Public announcements are ongoing to ensure timely evacuations.

In preparation for aerial rescue and relief, two helicopters are on standby in Sarsawa and two Chinook helicopters are on standby in Chandigarh. “All four helicopters will reach for the rescue as soon as the weather clears,” Bhatt confirmed.

Medical teams and food supplies have been mobilized in the affected regions. “We are doing everything we can, but no one can control natural disasters. We pray that more and more people are rescued safely,” he added.
