BY A STAFF REPORTER: As the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony took place yesterday, posters supporting Babri mosque were seen on the Campus of Pune's Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) on Tuesday 23rd January.

The posters reading 'Remember Babri' and 'The death of Constitution' affixed by the students' association of FTTI resulted in a clash between the right-wing activists and FTTI students in the college premises. The Hindutva activists burned the posters afterward. A similar incident took place in Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia where students raised pro-Babri slogans on the college campus on 22nd January Monday.

The posters were referencing the demolition of the Babri Mosque in 1992 by the Karsevaks' Mob claiming the land as the birthplace of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. In a 2003 excavation report of the Archeological Survey of India, it was revealed that a temple-like structure once existed on the same land upon which the Babri mosque was built later during the reign of Mughal Emperor Babur.
