Indore, June 11 — In a new development in the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, the sister of accused Raj Kushwaha has come forward with an emotional appeal, asserting her brother’s innocence and raising concerns over alleged denial of access by authorities.
Speaking to the media, Suhani, Raj’s younger sister, said, “My brother has not done anything. He should get justice. We have not seen him since Sunday. We went to the Crime Branch, but they did not allow us to see him.”
She also stated that Raj had never mentioned or spoken about the victim, Sonam Raghuvanshi, contradicting reports that suggested a possible personal motive. “My brother never spoke about Sonam Raghuvanshi,” she said firmly.
Describing her family’s financial hardship and emotional struggle, Suhani recounted how Raj had taken on the role of caretaker for the entire family following their father's death. “My brother passed Class 10th and had to stop studies after our father's death. He used to take care of all of us,” she said, adding that the family cannot afford to travel to Meghalaya, where he is reportedly being held.
“Our only demand is that they should get justice,” Suhani pleaded, emphasizing both a fair trial for Raj and clarity on the circumstances surrounding his detention.
