Delhi: Reacting to reports of alleged molestation involving two Australian women cricketers in Indore, Congress leader Pawan Khera on Saturday strongly condemned the incident and called for collective political action to ensure women’s safety.
Khera expressed concern over what he described as a growing trend of crimes against women across the country. “Such incidents are on the rise, but unfortunately, BJP only hits the roads when it happens in Congress-ruled states,” he remarked, criticizing what he called selective outrage by the ruling party.
He further urged all political parties, irrespective of their ideological differences, to raise their voices together against such crimes and focus on formulating robust policies to create a safe environment for women. “All the parties must raise their voices unitedly against crimes against women and work on policies to create a safe environment for women,” he said.
