New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1 PM on Monday after uproar by Opposition members disrupted proceedings ahead of the scheduled discussion on Operation Sindoor. The special debate was to address the government’s counter-terror operation and the recent Pahalgam attack, but the session was delayed due to continuous sloganeering.
Speaker Om Birla expressed disappointment over the disruption, reminding members of their earlier demand for a discussion on the issue. “First, you ask for a debate on Operation Sindoor, then in the House, you come into the Well of the House. If you want to participate in a discussion, please take your seats,” he said.
Birla further questioned the intent of the protesting members. “Do you want a discussion on Operation Sindoor or not?... Should I adjourn the House?” he asked before finally adjourning the session till 1 PM.
