Nagaland/Mumbai — In a coordinated inter-state rescue operation, Mumbai Police and Nagaland Police successfully traced and rescued a kidnapping victim, Mohan Kumar, from the Naginimora area of Mon district, Nagaland. An FIR was initially registered by Mumbai Police based on a complaint that Kumar, who had travelled to Nagaland for work, had been abducted.

Following the registration of the case, Mumbai Police shared actionable inputs with their counterparts in Nagaland. A joint team from Naginimora Police Station and Mon Police Station, under the leadership of SDPO Tizit, launched a targeted operation in the Naginimora region.

After nearly six hours of sustained effort, the team apprehended three accused individuals and safely rescued Mohan Kumar. The arrested suspects have been identified as:

1. Jatom alias David alias Heroka Awomi, son of Tokhavie Awomi, a resident of Naginimora

2. Aungnyei Phom, 55, son of Chingjum, resident of Longleng

3. Kempa, 59, son of Kailong, originally from Wakching village, currently residing in Naginimora, Ward 9

 

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that further details regarding the motive and circumstances behind the abduction are being examined.
