On October 13, Mumbai Customs successfully intercepted a passenger arriving from Bangkok at Mumbai Airport, leading to a significant narcotics seizure. The officers discovered 5076 grams of contraband, suspected to be Ganja (Marijuana), concealed inside food packets wrapped with gift wrappers and placed in the passenger's trolley bag.

The estimated provisional value of the seized Ganja is Rs 5.07 crores. Mumbai Customs officials demonstrated remarkable vigilance, showcasing the effectiveness of their profiling and surveillance methods that led to the interception.

The concealed drugs were detected as part of ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking of narcotics through the city's airport. The arrested individual was taken into custody under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

This operation underlines the continued commitment of Mumbai Customs in tackling drug smuggling and highlights the importance of robust security measures in preventing narcotics trafficking in the region.
