By A Staff Reporter – The Government has announced the appointment of Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, currently serving as Vice Chief of the Army Staff, as the next Chief of the Army Staff. Lt. Gen. Dwivedi will assume the role from the afternoon of June 30th.
The incumbent Chief of the Army Staff, General Manoj C Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, will demit office on the same day, paving the way for Lt. Gen. Dwivedi to take over the leadership of the Indian Army. This transition marks a significant milestone in the Indian military leadership, with Lt. Gen. Dwivedi set to assume command during a critical period for the armed forces.
