ISRO Successfully Launches INSAT-3DS From Sriharikota

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, the Indian Space Research Organization Successfully launched INSAT-3DS on board GSLV-F14 from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on 17th February, Saturday.

It successfully performed the second stage of the launch and separated the payload. Nicknamed 'naughty-boy', the INSAT-3DS is a meteorological and disaster warning satellite that will be deployed by the 16th flight of Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle (GSLV) F-14 into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). The following orbit-raising maneuvers will ensure that the satellite is placed in a Geostationary Orbit.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Earth Sciences is entirely funding the mission.
