BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the Indian Scientific Research Organization is set to launch INSAT-3DS in the 16th mission of GSLV-F14 on February 17th from Sriharikota.
Moreover, the INSAT-3DS, a meteorological and disaster warning satellite will be deployed by the 16th flight of GSLV into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). The following orbit-raising maneuvers will ensure that the satellite is placed in a Geostationary Orbit.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Earth Sciences is entirely funding the mission. The GSLV-F14/INSAT-3DS will be launched from Sriharikota at 5:30 PM on 17th February, Saturday.
The launch of the GSLV-F14/INSAT-3DS mission is set for Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 17:30 Hrs. IST from SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota.
