Interim Budget 2024: Murmu Highlights Ram Mandir, other achievements

BY A STAFF REPORTER: As the Interim Budget Session begins on Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu highlighted numerous achievements of the current government including Ayodhya's Ram Mandir, growth in the tourism and agricultural sector, and economy on 31st January Wednesday in New Delhi. 

While addressing a joint sitting of two houses in the new Parliament building, Murmu mentioned that centuries-old aspirations turned into reality with the establishment of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. While addressing for the first time in the new Parliament building, she emphasized that the new Parliament building emits a fragrance of 'Shrestha Bharat'. She termed 2023 as a historic year for India as it grew fastest among the major economies. Murmu further asserted that the government is endeavoring to raise the profitability of agriculture and aiming for people-centric development. 

After concluding the speech, President Droupadi Murmu left in a traditional buggy for the Rashtrapati Bhavan. While addressing the media, Narendra Modi further informed that the full budget will be presented once the new government is formed. The interim budget session for the financial year 2024-25 is scheduled for 1st February at 11:00 AM. The interim budget is being presented ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2024.
