The Indian Navy’s frontline frigate, INS Tabar, arrived at London harbour on August 7th for a four-day visit, underscoring the enduring naval cooperation between India and the United Kingdom. The visit is part of the ongoing partnership between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy, which includes the annual bilateral naval exercise, Konkan.

INS Tabar, a stealth frigate built in Russia, is one of the Indian Navy’s earliest stealth vessels. Commanded by Captain MR Harish, the ship boasts a complement of approximately 280 personnel and is equipped with a versatile range of weapons and sensors, making it a formidable asset in the Indian Navy’s fleet.

As a key part of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet, based in Mumbai under the Western Naval Command, INS Tabar plays a crucial role in enhancing maritime security and cooperation. The ship's visit to London is expected to further strengthen the strategic ties and interoperability between the Indian and Royal Navies.
