Haryanvi Model Sheetal Simmi Chaudhary Found Dead in Canal; Suspect Arrested in Murder Case

Panipat, Haryana, June 17 — In a shocking development, Haryanvi model Sheetal Simmi Chaudhary was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a canal in Panipat. Police have arrested a man named Sunil in connection with her alleged murder and are set to present him in court today to seek police remand.

According to Satish Kumar Vats, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Panipat, the case began when the victim’s sister filed a missing person report on June 15. Just a day later, authorities were alerted about a woman’s body discovered in a canal. Preliminary examination revealed visible injuries, raising strong suspicion of the murder.

“Her family informed us that she had last been seen with a man named Sunil. Upon questioning, Sunil admitted to taking her to a nearby village on June 14. An argument ensued, during which he attacked her with a knife and then disposed of her body in the canal,” DSP Vats stated.

The police are now investigating the possibility of other individuals being involved in the crime. The accused is currently in custody, and further questioning is expected to shed more light on the motive and whether the murder was premeditated or spontaneous.
