Haldwani Violence: Prime Accused Abdul Malik Arrested In Delhi

The Nainital police will carry the further investigation into the case. Furthermore, Abdul Malik will be produced before the court.
Abdul Malik is a prime accused and alleged mastermind behind the Haldwani riots that occurred on 8th February in Uttarakhand's Haldwani. So far, more than 30 arrests have been made concerning the Haldwani violence.
After an Anti-encroachment drive involving the abolishment of Madrasa, violence erupted in Haldwani's Banbhoolpura area. Reportedly, four individuals were killed and more than 100 police officers were injured. Responding to the violence, the administration imposed a curfew with a 'shoot-on-sight' order.
